SIOTH® is Integration Objects’ Industrial IT-OT-IoT platform. Its Unified HMI (UHMI) provides web-based SCADA views, alarms and dashboards. Configuring tags, data models and views, or migrating displays from legacy SCADA systems, requires manual intervention and expert knowledge.
This project aims to build an AI configuration assistant based on an MCP server exposing SIOTH configuration to large language models, together with a converter that transforms legacy HMI displays into UHMI views.
Keywords
SCADA, UHMI, Generative AI, MCP, LLM, .NET/C#, Angular, TypeScript, REST APIs, HMI migration, industrial automation.
Model Context Protocol
- Open standard connecting LLMs to tools and data.
- Tools, resources and prompts exposed through one server.
- Compatibility with Claude, Copilot and other MCP clients.
- Controlled, permission-based access to SIOTH APIs.
- Official SDKs for C#/.NET, Python and TypeScript.
Main topics
- Study MCP, LLM tool calling and UHMI APIs.
- Develop a SIOTH MCP server for tags, models and views.
- Build a converter from legacy displays to UHMI views.
- Add a natural-language assistant with user approval.
- Validate accuracy and security on real projects.
Deliverables
- MCP server and views-converter source code.
- Configuration assistant integrated into UHMI.
- Project report, design report and test reports.
Expected results
- Faster SCADA configuration and HMI migration.
- Fewer errors through guided configuration.
- An AI-ready SIOTH platform for engineering teams.
