Description du poste
Project
Study and validate a safe, repeatable way to collect useful machine data for Nexa. Work with industrial and software teams to understand available interfaces, map the required signals, and document the customer-side prerequisites for commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Survey the machine, PLC, SCADA, historian, and available customer-approved interfaces; recommend a connection route based on the site’s constraints.
- Configure and test read-only collection through Nexa Edge using OPC UA and, where supported and authorized, Siemens S7 or Modbus TCP.
- Prepare a tag inventory covering signal name, source, meaning, unit, operating range, update behavior, and known limitations.
- Validate timestamps, units, signal changes, buffering, reconnect behavior, and data availability using a test bench or authorized machine connection.
- Document responsibilities and steps for Nexa and customer IT/OT teams, including network access, accounts, firewall rules, and acceptance checks.
Expected deliverables
- Connection proof of concept: A working, read-only connection to an agreed test setup or authorized machine using Nexa Edge.
- Tag inventory and mapping proposal: Signals described with source, meaning, units, behavior, and quality notes for the Data Engineer.
- Commissioning and network guide: Clear prerequisites and sequence for customer IT/OT and Nexa teams, with a network/data-flow diagram.
- Test report: Results for normal operation, disconnection/reconnection, buffering where supported, and known limitations.
Profile and skills
Final-year student in industrial IT, automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or computer engineering. Familiarity with PLCs, industrial networks, SCADA, and troubleshooting, with willingness to document and coordinate technical work across teams.
Useful experience
Siemens PLCs, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Industrial Ethernet, Python, and factory commissioning.
Shared program context
This is one of three coordinated end-of-studies projects contributing to a secure and context-aware industrial data integration path. The shared outcome is to connect industrial data to the right machine and operating context and make it useful to Nexa through a secure, repeatable integration path.
