Context
SIOTH® is an Industrial IT-OT-IoT platform. Setting up a SIOTH project involves configuring connectors, data flows, historian, rules and workflows across several tools, requiring product knowledge and time.
Project
Develop an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server exposing SIOTH configuration and runtime APIs as secure tools, together with an AI assistant that enables engineers to configure, query and troubleshoot SIOTH in natural language.
Assistant capabilities
- Create and configure connectors, tags and data flows.
- Set up historian archiving, rules and workflows.
- Query live values, connector status and logs.
- Guide troubleshooting using diagnostics and documentation.
- Perform bulk configuration from CSV, Excel and tag-list files.
Main topics
- Study MCP, LLM tool calling and SIOTH APIs.
- Design MCP tools, resources and access rights.
- Develop the SIOTH MCP server in .NET.
- Build the assistant with preview and user approval.
- Evaluate accuracy, security and response time.
Deliverables
- SIOTH MCP server source code and tool catalog.
- Configuration assistant with user interface.
- Documentation including report, design report and test reports.
Expected results
Faster SIOTH project setup and commissioning, a lower learning curve for new engineers, and safe and auditable AI-driven configuration.
