SMART RECORDER: UI ACTIONS TO SELENIUM

Internship

Problem

Writing Selenium scripts by hand is slow. Classic recorders create a new locator for every action, leading to duplicated objects that are difficult to maintain.

Key tasks

• Develop a browser plugin that records clicks, inputs, selects, and waits.
• Before saving a locator, search the object repository and reuse an existing object.
• Build stable locators using labels, IDs, and roles.
• Generate clean code with team keywords.
• Handle iframes, popups, and dynamic ACP pages.

Success criteria

• Recorded scripts run successfully without manual edits.
• Near-zero duplicate objects.
• Less time to automate a test case.
• Locators survive minor UI changes.

Candidate profile and requirements

• Final-year software engineering student.
• JavaScript for browser extensions, Python, and Selenium.
• Good DOM, XPath, and CSS knowledge.
• Autonomous and attentive to usability.
