Context
SIOTH® is an Industrial IT-OT-IoT platform. Its MQTT broker connects devices, sensors and applications through lightweight publish/subscribe messaging, but is currently deployed and managed on-premise for each customer.
Project
Transform the MQTT broker into a multi-tenant SaaS platform on Azure, allowing customers to subscribe, provision secure brokers in minutes and pay as they go without managing infrastructure.
SaaS platform features
- Multi-tenant brokers with isolated namespaces.
- Self-service portal for sign-up, provisioning and credentials.
- TLS encryption, ACLs and per-tenant authentication.
- Usage metering, quotas and subscription plans.
- Auto-scaling, high availability and monitoring.
Main topics
- Study SaaS architectures and multi-tenancy models.
- Design the platform architecture on Azure.
- Develop the tenant provisioning and management portal.
- Implement security, metering and monitoring.
- Validate scalability with load and failover tests.
Deliverables
- Source code, infrastructure-as-code scripts and CI/CD pipelines.
- Self-service portal and administration dashboard.
- Documentation including report, design report and test reports.
Expected results
MQTT brokers available on demand in minutes, a new subscription-based offer for SIOTH, and a scalable, secure and highly available service.
