PFE-04 - Network Firewall

Mission: Develop a custom hardware‑software network firewall for SMBs, combining a low‑power hardware appliance with a robust software suite for monitoring, policy enforcement, and threat prevention.

Objectives:

• Build a high‑performance filtering engine (IP/port/protocol) with minimal latency
• Design an electronic architecture handling multiple Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
• Create a web‑based dashboard for non‑technical SMB owners to manage rules and view threat reports

Technologies:

• Software: C/C++, Python/Go, React
• Networking: Netfilter/IPTables, DPDK
• Hardware: ARM‑based SoC or FPGA for acceleration
• OS: Hardened Linux

Profile: Bac+3/Bac+5 – Cybersecurity / Embedded Electronics / Hardware Engineering
