LMCP (PLEIADES Laboratory for Numerical Methods and Physical Components) - Development and Verification of the MFEM/MGIS and Manta Thermomechanical Codes for Modelling the Fracture of Brittle Materials

Goal: Contribute to cross‑code verification of next‑gen thermomechanical solvers MFEM/MGIS and Manta for an innovative gradient‑damage approach to brittle fracture (including crack‑closure modeling). Hosted at CEA Cadarache, IRESNE, LMCP.

Work:

• Design and run benchmark structural problems to assess robustness, accuracy, and performance of implementations.
• Analyze parameters influencing crack nucleation and propagation; document verification sufficient for publication.

Methods/tools: Gradient damage models, MFEM/MGIS, Manta, MFront; HPC practices.
