Job Description
Position: Research Engineer in Metallurgical Industry
- Objective: Improve the durability of alloys from the circular economy by studying the influence of microstructure constituents on fatigue properties.
- Responsibilities:
- Analyze defects formed during the elaboration/solidification of metallic alloys.
- Study the impact of chemical composition, elaboration parameters, and cooling kinetics on defect formation.
- Conduct tests on non-ferrous recycled alloy specimens with controlled defects.
- Link mechanical behaviors in tension (crack initiation and propagation) to volume microstructure.
- Requirements:
- Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and material properties.
- Experience in conducting mechanical tests and analyzing results.
- Knowledge of alloy composition and solidification control.
- Equipment: Utilize the SPeCiMen 3D testing equipment within the LAMCUBE laboratory's PIMS platform.
