Description

Project Overview

  • Objective: Design an automatic machine for cutting corrugated (grooved) tubes with high precision.
  • Department: Engineering. Profile: Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical Engineer. Number of interns: 02. Duration: 06 Months.

Main Tasks / Responsibilities

  • Functional study and definition of the specifications for the automatic grooved/corrugated tube cutting machine.
  • 3D mechanical design of the machine using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor and sizing of mechanical components (guiding, transmission, motorization, sensors).
  • Development of the automated control logic using Siemens PLC and simulation of the operation to optimize the cutting cycle.

Required Skills & Tools

  • Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Siemens PLC programming knowledge and general automation experience (sensors, actuators, control logic).
  • Understanding of mechanical component sizing: guiding systems, transmissions, motorization and sensor integration.

Expected Deliverables

  • Complete functional specification and design documentation for the machine.
  • 3D CAD models and mechanical calculations/sizing for guiding, transmission and motorization.
  • Siemens PLC program implementing the control logic, plus simulation results and an optimized cutting cycle.
