Overview:
- Conduct a financial feasibility study to evaluate the profitability, viability and risks of an investment project by analysing projected costs, revenues and cash flows.
- Calculate key performance indicators (NPV, IRR, Payback Period) to support informed investment decisions and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Project is placed in the Finance department; number of trainees: 1; subject reference: 18.
Main responsibilities (What you will do):
- Build and maintain financial models to estimate project costs, revenues and cash flows over the relevant time horizon.
- Perform quantitative and scenario analysis (base, optimistic, pessimistic) to assess sensitivity of results to key assumptions.
- Compute and interpret NPV, IRR and Payback Period and prepare clear recommendations based on the outputs.
- Identify and document financial risks and key value drivers, and propose mitigation measures.
Required expertise & tools:
- Ability to evaluate project costs, revenues and cash flows using financial models.
- Knowledge of NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and Payback Period calculations and their interpretation.
- Proficiency in Excel (or similar tools) for modelling, cash-flow forecasting, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to present quantitative results to stakeholders.
Deliverables & expected outcomes:
- A comprehensive financial feasibility report including model inputs, assumptions, cash-flow projections and KPI calculations (NPV, IRR, Payback).
- Scenario analysis and sensitivity tables showing impact of key variables on project viability.
- Clear executive summary with recommended decision (go/no-go), identified risks and suggested mitigation actions.
