1 Study Abroad Readiness Assessment Tool PFE

Project Overview

• Create a web-based platform that automatically recommends scholarships available for students based on their academic level, nationality, and study goals.
• Develop an interactive online test that evaluates a student’s readiness for studying abroad based on language level, motivation, financial capacity, and academic goals; the system will generate a personalized report with advice and recommendations.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Define evaluation criteria and scoring logic used by the assessment to generate personalized readiness reports and scholarship matches.
• Design an intuitive, responsive web interface for students to take the assessment and receive their personalized report.
• Develop backend logic for data processing, scoring, scholarship recommendation engine, and secure data storage.
• Implement a dashboard for counselors to view student results, filter students, and export reports.
• Conduct functional and usability testing, iterate based on feedback, and write full documentation and a deployment guide.

Technical Stack & Tools

• Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Chart.js for report visualizations.
• Backend & Deployment: Node.js and Google Cloud for hosting, storage, and services.
• Design & Prototyping: Figma for UI/UX design and prototypes.

Deliverables & Acceptance Criteria

• Fully functional web platform with student-facing assessment flow and counselor dashboard.
• Scoring engine that outputs a clear, actionable readiness report and scholarship recommendations.
• Usability test results, bug-fix report, and a finalized deployment guide with environment setup.
• Source code repository, API documentation, and Figma design files.

Duration & Collaboration

• Internship duration: 4 to 6 months working on iterative sprints with mentors and the Eddium team.
• Regular check-ins with assigned supervisor; collaborate with counselors and product stakeholders to refine criteria and dashboard features.
